Dr. Gannon is an internationally recognized leader in the field of low vision. He has dedicated his life and his practice to helping those challenged by its affects. He is a passionate and frequent speaker on the topic.
Dr. Gannon was raised in Shaker Hts. Ohio, attended Miami University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Illinois College of Optometry. He then served as an optometrist in the US Navy.
He lives in Lighthouse Point, Florida. And, on the rare occasion when he is not in his office, can be found enjoying his family, sailing or playing fetch with his German Shepherd, service dog: Eiko.

Michelle is an occupational therapist who loves helping her Low Vision patients
achieve their visual goals. She is commended most for creating effective therapies which address each patient’s unique visual requirements. She focuses on maximizing the combination of patient’s capabilities with their custom devices, to increase their security, safety and pleasure in their daily lives.
Michele joined the Low Vision Institute in 2004. Her background is in acute care, as well as in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation. Michele graduated from Florida International University’s Department of Health Sciences with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy.

Lois Neinken, Director of Professional and Public Relations -

Lois is the front line to the professional community, organizations and the media. For over 25 years, her role at The Low Vision Institute has been to reach people challenged with Low Vision and inform them of the work we’re doing here, through written articles and public appearances.
She is engaged in the community as member of the Elder Service Resource Network, has worked as an administrator for the Pompano Beach Kiwanis Club and the Fort Lauderdale Business Forum. She is a member of American Mensa, the Thoroughbred Racing Association and A.O.P.A. Lois is a published author and has analyzed and condensed texts for graduate teaching courses.

Julie may be the friendly voice you hear when you call The Low Vision Institute and the welcoming face you see when you walk through the door. She makes sure that things run smoothly for our patients and staff. Being wholeheartedly dedicated to patient care and sensitive to the needs of our very special patients, Julie is always willing to go above and beyond to help in any way she can.
She has over 20 years or experience in ophthalmology medical practices.
Her other passion is cats – those she shares her home with and the tigers she visits at the zoo.
