Created at the Low Vision Institute, RenewView™, is a powerful 3-step low vision system. Simply put, our unique approach helps our patients see again. While most low vision programs help patients adapt to a world of very limited or no sight, our techniques, devices and therapies help patients regain their vision and allow them to live a more visually independent life.

Over 30 years ago, Dr. Gannon, the Founder of the Low Vision Institute, realized that patients with low vision almost always have some healthy tissue in their eye. His patients, unable to focus straight ahead, had small places in their peripheral vision that was clear and sharp. Dr. Gannon has spent the last 30 years perfecting his evaluation techniques, combined with custom-designed devices and unique therapies to "retrain" the eye to see using that healthy tissue.

We don't teach you how to live in a world without sight... we teach you how to see again!

Thousands of our patients have benefited from the program and are able to return to a life of visual independence.Each individual patient's goals are mutually established prior to starting the RenewView™ Program. 

STEP ONE:
Low Vision Examination: ViewAnalysis™

Our exclusive comprehensive examination includes a series of specialized evaluation procedures to identify areas of healthy tissuecd in the eye. It is non-evasive and stress-free. Examinations usually take 90 minutes of one-on-one time with a physician. Our physicians and technicians will make sure your experience is pleasant and informative.

All patients receive a CD presentation that can be reviewed at home at their leisure.

STEP TWO:
Low Vision Devices: ViewAbles™

Our physicians are exceptionally skilled and trained in the design and selection of a wide range of optical devices to meet the individual needs of our patients. Devices are often adapted into conventional glasses allowing full function at different distances.

STEP THREE:
Low Vision Rehabilitation: ViewAbilities™

With the combined efforts of our skilled and caring therapists, our patients can maximize the effectiveness of their devices. Unlike other low vision therapy which teaches patients how to adapt and compensate for their condition: usually includes methods used in assisting the blind, ViewAbilities™ incorporates unique therapies which help patients utilize their devices and see again.
